As I experienced the window detail in the new library block in cept campus and an old window in a kutch village of size 18″ X18″ With 6″ Wide border all around I was in a fix as to which is the greater expression as both made me stand in front of them in total amazement. After some time of contemplation I realised a difference in the form of interaction with the window that one attains as one stands in front of them. they say the purpose of art is to reveal the hidden realities and they also say that it must provoke the viewer to add something to it without which the experience of art is not achieved. Now both these forms of interactions are in conflict to each other, where in one case there is a lot to add in the story innitiated by the creator only because the room of addition is high
because of higher level of abstraction in the work of art, hence the art work makes you feel stunned and takes you out of a zone of comfort as you are expected now to add something to it. This is because the elements in the work of art are minimum. And we call it minimalist, on the other hand a work of art which reveals many hidden realities of the subject in concern puts you in a great sense
of ease, as you are not expected to add much but only discover the connects amongst the revealed hidden realities. Hence the old city had a higher sense of ease than the new library block. The addition of hidden realities is like multiple couplets in a ghazal or patterns of music (taan, alankar) within the structure of a raaga . It’s like  a difference between male and female ornamentation
