Uncertainty is often equated with confusion, but this is not true.
Uncertainty opens you up to discover the world within you. Gurbani says:
“Jo Brhamande so Pinde, Jo Khoje so Paave”
This means: Whatever exists in the universe exists inside me; only a desire can help one discover.
When one questions, the answer is within. When there is no questioning, there are no answers.
When you desire to become something, everything you see around you becomes an expression of your own inner self.
There is a sense of wonder in human beings and an inherent tendency for imitation.
Human beings are not meant to do just one thing. Over the years, due to historical influences—such as the British invasion—success has been equated with mastery in a single field. This notion was reinforced by the infamous phrase:
“Jack of all trades, master of none.”
But this phrase was likely coined by those who failed to train their minds to embrace multiple disciplines and did not want others to do so either.
In reality, humans are cognitive beings, possessing the unique ability to reason with emotion—unlike animals.
This gives us the opportunity to practice multiple disciplines.
Historically, great minds like Michelangelo were multi-disciplinary—engineers, architects, and artists—allowing them to develop a holistic vision that no one else around them could see. They saw everything as interconnected.
The real task is inner fulfillment, which moves one away from the conventional idea of “success.”
Success demands focusing on a single pursuit, while inner fulfillment demands embracing everything around.
When one is open to everything, they develop a childlike curiosity—seeing the world anew each day.
A child, when given an object, will try to break it—not out of destruction, but out of curiosity—to see what lies within.
A child is in absolute amazement simply watching an ant crawl on a tree.
For them, this small moment becomes an entire world.
In contrast, many adults require a group of people around them to feel happy—because they forget to see the world from a fresh perspective.
The human mind has an inherent capacity for imagination and reason—and no one can take that away.
While embracing everything, one also develops the ability to discern how much to embrace and in what form.
Time will decide that.
Continuous questioning of belief ultimately reinforces the belief.
Yet, it keeps one in a state of uncertainty.
But uncertainty is not a flaw—it is a state of transition—a doorway to discovery.
Humans have the ability to train their minds to embrace everything around them.
Clarity is the end of the finding.
Finding is diving, found is arriving.
It is the uncertain state that brings bliss.
It is about what is about to happen—not just the happening.
It is a state of arriving—not just the arrival.
It is about what is blossoming—not just the blossom.
It is about what is rising—not just the risen.
It is about being in transformation—not just aspiring for the transformed.
It is like a train just leaving—not just the moving train.
It is about the before and after—the state of during.
